Below is a general waiver that is required prior to the event. \n\nI acknowledge the inherent risk(s) of participating in a tour on an active working farm and being in the presence of livestock\, which include (but are not limited to):\n\n•	the behavior and actions of any animal (including cows\, horses\, sheep and chickens)  can be unpredictable and that in visiting with animals\, personal injury or property damage may occur.\n•	farming equipment and machinery may be actively in operation and may result in injury\, harm\, or death to persons on or around such implements;\n•	dangers of being in areas marked Do Not Enter\, Off Limits to Customers\, or any other methods to demonstrate that specific areas are off-limits;\n•	dangers of not following directions of instructors\, farmers or guides;\n•	exposure to biological or environmental hazards;\n•	hazards related to climbing ladders\, repetitive movements (such as cultivating or picking produce)\, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions;\n•	the potential of any participant or spectator to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others.\n\nIn consideration for enrolling my self or my child(ren) in the tour at the Farm\, I hereby release from liability and waive my right to sue the Threefold Educational Foundation and School and the Fellowship Community\, their employees\, officers\, volunteers\, insurance carriers\, and agents (collectively “Threefold Releasees”) from any and all claims\, including claims of Threefold’s negligence\, resulting in any physical injury\, illness or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my or my child’s enrollment and participation in tours conducted by the Farm. I understand and agree that this Waiver and Release is binding on my heirs\, assigns\, and legal representatives.\n\nIndemnification: I also AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the Threefold Releasees from any loss\, liability\, damage\, or costs\, including court costs and reasonable attorneys' fees that Threefold Community Farm may incur due to my participation in said activities\, whether caused by the Farm’s ordinary negligence or otherwise\, to the fullest extent allowed by law.\n\nI have carefully read this Waiver and Release and fully understand its contents. The books about bees and beekeeping share what is normal and likely\, but often minimize our expectations for what is possible. In this sharing of stories\, which are being compiled into a new book\, Alex shares some of the most interesting phenomena from his first-hand experiences with the bees at Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary\, opening up new vistas for what we imagine is possible\, and allowing a deeper trust in the wisdom of the bees to guide our approach and relationship with them and the natural world. \n \n \nAlex Tuchman is a beekeeper\, educator\, farmer\, author\, father\, and student of nature. As the Director of Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary\, Alex carries a wide variety of responsibilities on the farm\, with the bees\, in the classroom\, and in administration. Alex is the co-leader of the Agriculture Section of the School of Spiritual Science with Sherry Wildfeuer and helps to facilitate the Alliance of Biodynamic Organizations. Building soil through cover-cropping\, making and applying your own compost\, and saving your own seeds supports a developing farm individually. In the classroom\, Mac Mead explores the relationship of soil science and spiritual science. In the garden\, we handle composts of different materials and maturities\, build compost piles\, make potting soil mix\, and treat compost piles with the biodynamic preparations.
