Mac Mead

Program Director & Farm Mentor

Mac mentors Threefold Community Farm staff and interns. Mac began farming in 1975, when he had the “privilege and good fortune” to learn biodynamic methods directly from former co-workers of biodynamic pioneer Ehrenfried Pfeiffer at the Fellowship Community. In 2006, Mac became the Program Director of the Pfeiffer Center. The core instructor of our Biodynamic Course, Mac regularly speaks at conferences of the Biodynamic Association (BDA), the Northeast Organic Farming Association, and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture. In 2016, he was an invited speaker at “The Spirit of Sustainable Agriculture,” a conference of the Harvard Divinity School.

Megan Durney

Farm Manager

As Farm Manager, Megan coordinates the daily work on our farm, and is an instructor in our One-Year Part-Time Training. She takes a leading role in planning and carrying out our annual Plant Sale and each season’s vegetable production. She directs our seed saving, herb growing, and herbal product production; manages our CSA, Farm Stand, and sales to other outlets. She is our beekeeping manager. Megan is a board member of the Nature Institute. Megan joined the Pfeiffer Center as an intern in 2006 and became a staff member in 2010. In 2014-2015, she studied seed saving under Harald Hoven at Raphael Garden in Fair Oaks, CA.

Kim Vaughan

Dairy Manager & Herdsperson

As Herdsperson and Dairy Manager, Kim heads up the only dairy herd in Rockland County. In addition to supporting all aspects of farm operations and administration, she is an active member of the Fellowship Community’s Administrative Circle and Community Council. Kim first met biodynamics at a year-long course with Harald Hoven at Raphael Garden in Fair Oaks, CA. She soon joined their CSA and became a star volunteer, serving on the steering committee, organizing fundraisers, and milking the cows on weekends. In 2016, Kim stepped away from Waldorf kindergarten teaching to become a full-time apprentice at Raphael Garden, followed by a summer at Fulcrum Farm in Grass Valley, CA, where she helped tend a small herd of Scottish Highland cows.

Natasha Klemek

Looking for somewhere to work on the land in service to others, Natasha joined the farm team in May of 2021. Natasha is returning to biodynamics, having grown up at the Fellowship Community where it was part of everyday life. She also completed an internship at the Pfeiffer Center in 2014 between college and graduate school. Natasha brings a diverse set of skills to the farm; she’s been an equine assisted learning facilitator, a gardener, a project manager for historic preservation, and a carpenter. Natasha’s work focuses largely on the horses and the dairy, and she is dedicated to developing the farm’s capacity to use draft animal power to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels.

Courtney Ryan

From there, her journey to continue learning led her to Sacramento, where she worked with Harold Hoven at Rudolf Steiner College. In 2016 she did an internship for a year and a half at The Pfieffer Center. This was followed by an internship at Natural Roots Farm, to continue her training of farming with draft horses. Courtney has now returned to Threefold Community Farm where she assists with a variety of work on the farm, from greenhouse tasks to field work, including her passion of caring for and working with our draft horses. Most recently she has begun to assist Megan with caring for our apiary.

In 2016, she attended The Pfeiffer Center’s Year Long Part Time training, and began working as a farm hand and farm manager for various biodynamic and CSA farms. In 2021 she finished the Farmer Foundation Program through the Biodynamic Association.

Brian makes cheese and vegetable-based ferments at Threefold Community Farm. Brian was trained as a poet. He has worked as a speechwriter, a strategy consultant, a facilitator, a professor, cook and gardener, and he built by hand a timber-frame cabin in the woods, where he spent five years reading, writing and meditating. He is Executive Director of Harmony Labs, a media research lab with a vision for media systems that support democratic culture and healthy, happy people. He also serves as President of the New York Vipassana Association.
