Pfeiffer Center Biodynamic Course

In thirteen full-day workshops from September to June, our one year part-time practical training in biodynamics covers the basic principles and timely activities of biodynamic agriculture through the seasons.

In the classroom, Mac Mead, and expert guest faculty introduce and explain Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual science, the foundation of biodynamics, in the context of Steiner’s “Agriculture Course” of 1924.

In the field, gardening techniques are demonstrated and practices include making and using the biodynamic preparations, compost making and soil building, working with large animals, beekeeping, greenhouse work, and much more.

Creating more access to our workshops is important to us so we offer two payment options for your convenience as well as scholarships and discounts.

Full Registration: $1475 tuition

Payment Plan: $1500 tuition, paid in four installments of $375 (1st payment due upon registration, remaining three payments automatically deducted monthly for 3 months).

Scholarships: Partial scholarships are available available from the Biodynamic Demeter Alliance (BDA) and from Threefold Community Farm. We offer scholarships on the basis of need and prioritize BIPOC and LGBTQ+ access. Please register for the course here first, and then proceed with scholarship applications.

Class sessions are from 9 am to 5 pm, and dates and presenters are subject to change.

Missed Classes: If you miss a class, it can be made up for free in future years.

Repeating the Classes: Also, it is possible to repeat individual classes in the future years with a fee of $125 per class. Please email a request to [email protected].

Taking Individual Classes: You can take certain classes individually, for a fee of $125 per class. There are no further stand alone classes in our 2023-2024 course.

You may receive a full refund if you withdraw from the course no later than September 1, 2023. A 50% refund will be given for withdrawals between September 1 and October 1, 2023.

A certificate of completion is awarded upon completion of all sessions and a project. Participants in this course are eligible for workshop participation credit in the Biodynamic Farmer Foundation Year program of the Biodynamic Association. Threefold Community Farm cooperates with colleges and universities offering credit for internship programs or work on special projects. It is the responsibility of the student to secure credit from the college.
