Marney is a writer, teacher, farmer, and burgeoning podcaster for Critter Chat. Fulcrum Farm (Grass Valley, CA), now in its 22nd year, grew out of a love of food and nature. Separate from the CSA they make Biodynamic compost for the nearby community, selling over 1,000 cubic yards annually. Before creating Fulcrum Farm, Marney started and managed a large-scale Biodynamic composting operation for the Presidio Trust, located in the National Park of the Presidio. The facility created compost for habitat restoration projects and provided a growing medium for all of the plants in the native plant nursery.

Lisa Bjorn

She/Her

Guest Speaker

Lisa has spent her life in Nature. If she is not hiking, she is working outdoors. Once she found wood, she was enthralled by the feel of wood. Constructing all types of structures piqued her curiosity towards this amazing living medium.

Wood turning is like building, but instead exposing the empty space, the eternal space. “I Turn To Explore The Dark Inner Wood and Reveal the Inner Light of Trees.”

Before Lisa started turning wood, she was a Biodynamic farmer for over 24 years. Fulcrum Farm was a build from the ground up along with her partner Marney Blair.
