With Bill Day

In this special half-day workshop, we will review the basics of how to create conditions in which our bees can thrive, including hive location, forage, managing Varroa, and deterring bears. Then we’ll cover essential springtime tasks: Assessing hive strength, recognizing problems, supering, and making splits. Weather permitting, we’ll spend much of the morning at the hives in the Pfeiffer Center garden.

Bring your questions and observations! There will be ample time for discussion.

Bonus afternoon session: After lunch, Bill will lead a walk to one of the bee yards on our farm for an open conversation and demonstration.

Bill Day cares for the Pfeiffer Center’s 25-hive apiary and conducts beekeeping workshops for the Pfeiffer Center and at PASA’s annual winter conference. He has kept bees following biodynamic principles for about fifteen years.

COVID-19 Protocols: Please visit this page for information about COVID-19 safety measures at Pfeiffer Center workshops.
