Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program
Neighbor-to-Neighbor is an after school program fostering community relationships between students from Chestnut Ridge Middle School and the Green Meadow Waldorf School.
Together we cultivate an environment for students to bridge their diverse life experiences and build a sense of community through guided social and agricultural activities.
Students selected to participate in the program come to the farm during their 7th and 8th grade school years in three 8 week sessions. Each experiential session builds on the previous as the students and educators form a spirit of community and relationship building through our work in the natural farmscape of Threefold Community Farm.
High school students are encouraged to participate as mentors and can earn community service hours towards their High School diploma. If interested in mentoring for Neighbor-to-Neighbor, contact [email protected]
Each year, 16 students are selected from about 100 applications. While the School District provides transportation, the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program is completely funded, staffed, and supported by the Threefold Community Farm. Our goal is to expand the program to include more students and more school districts, but we need support. Please consider making a donation to support the continued success and growth of this mentorship program.
